CEC launches AMU’s first smart app

Cultural Education Centre launched the very first smart application of Aligarh Muslim University for the Android smartphones. The app was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. Tabassum Shahab in the Kennedy Auditorium. Developed by Digibaba.in, the myCEC app can be downloaded from the Google Play Store all around the world.

The app launch event was started with a quick introduction by the coordinator Prof. F. S. Sherani to the CEC’s cultural activities by emphasizing the need of the smart technology in order to enhance the cultural activism of the Cultural Education Centre. In his keynote speech, the CEO and co-founder of Digibaba.in, Syed Nabeel Mehdi highlighted the reasons why the app should be called a smart app. Demonstrating the functionality of the app, Syed Mehdi said, the myCEC app not only tends to bring all the CEC activities to a huge online smart platform, but there is a vast variety of features built-in the app where people would be able to track all the future and past information about different clubs, buildings, coordinators and club functionaries of CEC. He further added, when it comes to the smart technology, there are features like live voting support in Kennedy auditorium based on the location for your favorite club/performer/event, QR code tour, 360 tour of CEC, voting analytics, auto event updates, push notification, newsletter subscription etc.

Talking about the live voting support, Syed Mehdi said, live vote system cannot be fooled because of the geo-tagging identification used in the app. The voting system only works within the 25-meter range of Kennedy Auditorium, as a result, nobody would be able to vote outside the Kennedy House complex.

The launch event was followed by a cultural evening where Hindustani, Fusion and Western Music Clubs of CEC delivered some amazing musical performances. The cultural evening was attended by the delegates from USA, Singapore, Japan and various cities of India who participated in HWWE 2017 and World Negro-congress 2017 in Aligarh Muslim University.
